Jacob Askeroth

Jacob Askeroth
Associate Director, Non-Credit Programs

Jacob has been at Purdue since August 2015 and has previously worked as the Assistant Director of Summer Session. In this role, he has contributed to Think Summer’s success by being highly involved in the strategy and implementation of many of its initiatives and marketing. In addition to other responsibilities, Jacob specifically oversaw Summer Stay Scholars, Summer Finish, Course Insights, and data analysis. He has a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Southern Utah University. Prior to his employment at Purdue, Jacob worked as the Special Assistant to the President at Southern Utah University. In Digital Education, Jacob will oversee efforts to develop and expand MOOC and other non-credit courses and programs.

Shari Beam

Shari Beam
Program Administrator

Shari has over a decade's experience in the Digital Education department. She received her degree in hospitality and food management from Ball State University, and in 2015 received her Project Management Professional certification. Before joining the Purdue team, Shari worked as an escrow closing agent and a residential real estate salesperson and spent sixteen years in the hospitality profession. She was voted Administrative Professional of the Year in 2012.

Kayla Boltz

Kayla Boltz
Business Manager

Kayla Boltz is the Business Manager for the Digital Education department at Purdue University. She started working at the University after graduating from Purdue in 2014 with a B.S. in Business Management, focusing on Marketing and Analytical Consulting. Kayla was hired into the Business Services Staff Development Program supporting the Engineering Professional Education department during her training period. After completing the program, she was appointed to support Digital Education and has since received the Bravo Award in recognition of her hard work and dedication to Purdue.

Madia Bickett

Madia Bickett
Online Education Specalist

Madia moved to Lafayette from Gilman, Illinois in 1999. She studied communications at PENN State and proceeded to work at a high tech startup, Cook Biotech (CBI) in the Purdue Research Park. In her role at CBI, she was the Corporate Communication Coordinator and managed all the Marketing and Public Relations activities. Madia started working at Purdue in the Department of Biochemistry in 2012. In Biochemistry she served as the Graduate Program Coordinator before joining Digital Education as the Online Education Specialist. In her free time, Madia loves to travel, ride her motorcycle and spend time with her family.

Thad Blossom

Thad Blossom
Manager, Professional Development and Training

Thad has earned a BS in Computer Graphics Technology and a Master's in Business Administration, both from Purdue University. He started at Purdue in 2005 by creating distance learning programs for veterinarians then expanded by creating programs and material for the entire veterinary community from K-12 to veterinary students and veterinary professionals. Now with Digital Education, Thad oversees non-credit programs.

Lori Crossler

Lori Crossler
Account Assistant

Lori came to Purdue University in 2007 where she started as an account clerk in the Business Office of Continuing Education and Conferences (CEC). Although the name has changed, Lori is in the same department and is now an account assistant for Digital Education. She oversees the financials and reporting of the credit programs. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and camping.

Robin Cunningham

Robin Cunningham
Associate Director, Degree and Professional Programs

Robin has a BS in elementary education and an MS in higher education administration. She started at Purdue University in 1992 in the Office of Admissions. She worked as a reference librarian assistant in the Krannert School of Management Library from 1994 to 1999. She worked as a conference coordinator before joining Distance Learning. While a conference coordinator, she became a Certified Meeting Planner.

Mike Eddy

Mike Eddy
Director

Oversee administrative functions for Purdue online programs, including online courses for campus students, online degree programs, and noncredit/certificate noncredit programs. Provide liaison with Purdue's Online Program Management partner, Deltak/Wiley.

Kevin Flanagan

Kevin Flanagan
Clerk V

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Kevin moved to Indiana in early 2002, and shortly thereafter began a series of adventures in the book industry. He has worked in a big-box retail establishment, co-owned a science fiction and fantasy book store, and assisted patrons in a public library. Kevin joined the Digital Education team in September 2015. When he isn't glued to a computer screen, he enjoys spending time with animals and traversing nature trails.

Emily Goldsmith

Emily Goldsmith
Video Production Lead

Emily received her Bachelor's from Purdue University in 2013 in Film and Video Studies with a minor in Communications. During her time in undergrad, she began her Purdue career working part-time for the Education Store on-campus, where she remained employed for all four years of her undergrad experience. After graduation, she was hired by a local marketing and media company, where she served as Creative Director for two years. Emily was brought on as a part-time production hand for Purdue NExT at the start of 2016. She quickly fell in love with the work and the environment there, and went on to become Production Lead in 2017. In her free time, Emily enjoys gardening, photography, gaming, and spending time with her husband and pets.

Kathy Greenwood

Kathy Greenwood
Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director and Directors

Kathy started her Purdue career in 1991 in the College of Agriculture. She transferred to the Air Force ROTC and then to the College of Technology Dean’s Office. In November 2002, Kathy transferred to Continuing Education and Conferences (now Digital Education), and she has been with the department 14 years. Kathy is the assistant to Executive Director Jon Harbor and Directors Chris Martin and Mike Eddy and is the registrar for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). When not at work, Kathy enjoys spending time with family, travel, and gardening.

Jon Harbor

Jon Harbor
Executive Director

Harbor first came to Purdue in 1984 and has held a range of administrative positions at the university, including serving as a department head, associate vice president for research for centers and institutes, interim dean of the College of Science, founding co-director of Purdue's Discovery Learning Research Center, and the founding/interim director of the University’s Global Sustainability Institute. He is a member of the Teaching Academy and has been recognized with both the Charles B. Murphy Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Provost's Award for Outstanding Graduate Faculty Mentor.

Harbor currently teaches a fully online, large-enrollment, introductory course at Purdue, and also co-teaches a joint hybrid and course with colleagues at Stockholm University that includes a study abroad component for Purdue students. He began his current role as Director of Digital Education and Associate Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning in August 2015.

Valerie Hardy

Program Administrator

Valerie has a BS in Management & Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington. She started working at Purdue in 1992 in the Office of Contract & Grant Business Affairs, now known as Sponsored Programs Services. She has also worked in the following areas during her Purdue career: Accounting, Physical Facilities, Purchasing, and Business Management in Purdue Extended Campus and now as a Program Administrator in Digital Education. Valerie provides program support for Engineering Professional Education (EPE) and Purdue NExT.

Shannon Harvey

Program Assistant

Shannon started working at Purdue University in 2003 in Sponsored Programs. She then moved to Purdue Extended Campus where she worked in the Business Office before moving to the Learning Center in 2010. Shannon oversees professional development and certificate training.

Jeni Hill

Jeni Hill
Program Administrator

Jeni earned her Master’s in Adult Education from Indiana University. She started at Purdue University in 2015 as a marketing strategist with Marketing and Media and now serves as a program administrator for Digital Education’s non-credit programs. Before she joined Purdue, Jeni worked in the digital marketing realm as an SEO marketing manager and helped clients optimize their website content as well as handle social media needs. When not at work, Jeni enjoys spending time with her husband Mike (who also works at Purdue), daughters Emily and Katie, and two Shiba Inus.

Vincent Hornbach

Video Production Lead

Vincent received his BS in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University in 2013. He started working for Purdue NExT in the fall of 2013 and became a Video Production Lead in the Spring of 2015. He currently oversees the recording and editing of lecture videos for several non-credit courses as well as other administrative responsibilities associated with course development and maintenance.

Denice Johnson

Denice started her Purdue career in 1988 as a receptionist/secretary in Krannert School of Management Dean’s Office. She transferred to Krannert Undergraduate Advising Office before moving to Purdue Extended Campus in Conferences. She moved down the hall to Distance Learning and has been with the department for approximately 17 years. Denice works with the registration process of graduate and undergraduate students and non-credit programs.

Maricel Lawrence

Maricel Lawrence
Online Program Launch Director

Maricel Lawrence has a BA in Spanish from Indiana University and a MS in Adult Education and Training from Colorado State University. She is originally from Argentina and moved to the US in 2005, where she learned to speak English and completed an online program with the University of South Africa on Tourism, Travel and Hospitality. Prior to coming to Purdue, Maricel was the Market Area Instructional Manager at Berlitz for 7 years and after that she worked as a Personnel Development Specialist for CSCI. She enjoys supporting students and faculty, and in her free time, she likes to take pictures, cook and travel.

Chris Martin

Chris Martin
Director

Martin first came to Purdue in 1998 and has held multiple positions within the Treasurer's area. He comes to Digital Education after serving as the Director of Business Management at Purdue University. In that role, he was responsible for coordinating and leading the network of business offices that support all business aspects of the University's academic departments, schools, and administrative units. Business Management is the link between academic departments/administrative units and specialized areas within the Treasurer's organization. The Business Management team provides strategic and operational business support for Purdue's vice presidents, deans, department heads, directors, faculty, staff, and students.

In addition to leading the business office operations, Chris has served as a sponsor on a number of process improvement projects and business system teams. He has been a sponsor on all stages of Purdue University's current Business Intelligence initiative. Chris relies on collaborative partnerships with business process owners, stakeholders and IT to help drive operational efficiency at Purdue.

Prior to leading the Business Management area, Chris served as the Director of Financial Affairs for the College of Engineering, as a team member on the University's Sustaining New Synergies Task Force, as the Senior Business Manager for the Krannert School of Management, and as a Business Analyst supporting Purdue's first administrative data warehouse.

In Digital Education, Martin will oversee the non-credit online portfolio and compliance and accessibility. In addition, he will work with Digital Education partners on implementing the Action Plan for Digital Education, and he will work on designing sustainable financial models for Digital Education.

Connie O'Neal

Connie started her Purdue career in 2007 in the College of Health and Human Sciences. She transferred to Purdue Extended Campus (Conferences) in 2012. In 2016, Connie transferred to Digital Education as an Account Clerk V. When not at work, Connie enjoys traveling, ATV racing, and spending time with family and friends.

Lisa Peters

Lisa Peters
Registration Clerk

Lisa started her Purdue career in 1980 with the Purchasing Department as an accounts payable clerk. She then transferred to Purdue Extended Campus in 1984 where she has spent the past 30 years working in a variety of positions before moving to Online and Professional Learning. Lisa facilitates the registration process for graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in Degree and Professional Programs and Self-Supporting Programs.

Jim Pukrop

Associate Director, Undergraduate Online Programs

Jim has a BA in English from Hanover College and an MA in English from Ball State University. After several years of teaching a variety of courses to high-achieving/gifted and talented students at two residential charter high schools, he began his Purdue career in 2004 as an academic advisor with the Krannert School of Management. In 2006 Jim became the Coordinator of the Engineering Honors Program; in 2008 he took a position with the Purdue Learning Communities program and led growth initiatives for 9 years. Now with Digital Education, Jim oversees the development of Undergraduate Online Programs.

Kristy Spencer

Kristy Spencer
Account Assistant

Kristy started her career at Purdue in 2014 working in Central Payroll as a Clerk, but has since been promoted to an Account Assistant in Digital Education. She processes all payroll functions for both the Digital Education and Purdue Conferences departments. She has an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management from Ivy Tech Community College.

K. Steckel

K. Steckel
Video Production Lead

Steckel is a Video Production Lead for Purdue NExT and has officially been a part of the team since March of 2016, but has worked with Purdue NExT off-and-on since their inception back in 2013. She received both her Bachelor’s and Masters of Science from the Computer Graphics Technology program at Purdue, graduating in 2012 and 2014 respectively. She was a TA during her undergrad, and worked for the Envision Center for Data Perceptualization as both a senior and a graduate student. She is now one of the leads for course development and has headed various Purdue NExT courses such as: Small Business Accounting, Polymerization Chemistry, and Purdue NExT’s suite of Engineering Math Courses.

Cheri Thomas

Business Manager

Cheri started at Purdue University in 2006 in Continuing Education and Conferences (CEC). She worked as a Clerk IV, Clerk V, and Account Assistant for Conferences until moving to her current position as Business Manager for Undergraduate Academic Affairs. She oversees the non-credit programs for Digital Education, Summer Programming, Advising, Exploratory Studies, and Certificate Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Alicia West

Alicia West
Program Administrator

Alicia earned her BS in Elementary Education in 2007. Upon graduation, she began her career as a Field Researcher and Lab Administrator in the Agronomy Department at Purdue. While in this position she earned two Bravo awards for her work as the Safety chair for the department. She began as a Program Administrator for Digital Education in 2017. She will oversee the Credit Self-Supporting Graduate and Undergraduate courses.

Adam Wilson

Assisstant Director of Financial Affairs

Adam earned a BS in Management from Purdue University and MBA from Ball State. He began working at Purdue in 2014 as a Business Manager for ITaP and became Assistant Director of Financial Affairs within the Office of the Provost in 2016, overseeing the fiscal activities of Digital Education.
