Advisor FAQ

Where can I find a list of PWL based online courses?

Our department has available a list of courses that we support on our website. However, there is a completed list of PWL based online courses in MyPurdue. You can find them by selecting the schedule type: Distance Learning. Please be aware that not all Distance Learning courses are 100% online. Please look at the Instructional Methods to find out what courses are Online, Primarily Online or Hybrid.

What is the difference between Online, Primarily Online or Hybrid courses?

How do students enroll in a PWL based online course?

Students can enroll in PWL based online courses through MyPurdue.

When can students add/drop a PWL based online course?

The PWL based online courses can be added or dropped as any other PWL course following these guidelines.

When can short courses be added or dropped?

PWL based short courses can be added or dropped following the short courses calendar.

My students need a proctor to take their exams, how can I help them?

Please remind your student of the Purdue Online Testing Center. They will need to schedule an exam on this website, and let their instructor know that they want to use our Testing Center to take an exam. The instructor will need to submit an exam through our system and indicate how they would like to get the exam back.

Are students charge to have their exam proctored at the Purdue Online Testing Center?

Purdue students taking Purdue based courses or through ICN will not need to pay a fee to take an exam at the Purdue Online Testing Center.

Purdue students taking a course with a different institution (not through ICN), and students not enrolled with Purdue will be required to pay a fee of $15.00 per exam to have exams proctored at the Purdue Online Testing Center. Please pay required exam fees here.

My students are interested in online courses, what should I advise them to do?
